pickles
  • Use small cucumbers, carrots, cauliflower or whatever you like- preferably without bruises.
  • Slice into a desired shape, a 1/4 inch thick is good.
  • In a pot bring to the boil white vinegar, some sugar and salt to your liking, and a little water if you want less vinegary taste. Enough to fill the jar you have. Make sure the jar and lid are really clean. Add into the mix some garlic or ginger or whatever you think might be interesting.
  • With the to-be-picked pieces in the jar, pour in the vinegar mix to fill the jar and fully submerge the contents. put the lid on tight, and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Put in in the refrigerator for at least a day or two, but a week is better. Plus it makes opening the jar more enjoyable.
  • Enjoy- pickles and beer is nice. Keep the jar in the fridge.
